This quilt project was done by grandmother/granddaughter team, Anita Miller and Aleah Perry. Aleah just had a brother after 4 sisters. About time to introduce blues. They made this quilt for him. This Baby Block pattern is from Missouri Star Quilt Company and of course features my new fabrics - Cottage Joy. I'm not tiring of see the quilts come in. Don't forget to add your name to my email list.
My friend, Stephanie Atwood of Front Porch Quilters, has done some fantastic things with my Windham Fabric Collection Cottage Joy. You'll want to watch for more of what Stephanie can do. Below is the first quilt she did. The quilt design and tutorial, Double Square Star, is from MSQC. For months I couldn't share anything we were working on. Now much is happening so if you'd like to follow along join the email list.

Windham Fabrics specialize in Quilting cotton. My Cottage Joy fabric Collection was designed for just that - Quilts. A fun part of the fabric collection for me is sending out the fabric and seeing what comes back in. I'll be sharing the many quilts some wonderful women created. Here we have a quilts by Allyson Wood of A Little of Everything. She created several and none of them look alike.
Meet COTTAGE JOY I know this one is anti-climactic because the whole collection is called Cottage Joy but I didn't really thing about naming the main floral that. I hadn't found a name that really felt right. Then, I was talking to my daughter about it and she said you should call it, "Cottage Joy. That's what I thought it was going to be." And then I was like, duh! It was just right. So this is a shout out to Cassandra who nailed the name down.
The whole collection is on pre-sale through Windham's Representatives. It'll be in stores around August. In the meantime, join our email list to be part of the journey. Meet ROSY Meet "Rosy". Janae Hutchison gave us "Rosy Charm" to work with. But we felt a sweet, simple pattern deserved a sweet, simple name. So we shortened it. I don't think she'd mind that we edited it. I've known Janae since she was a teenager and she babysat some of my kids. She's all grown up but she's as sweet as they come. So, it totally fits that she named this fabric.

Meet MEADOW FLOWERS Hello "Meadow Flowers," named by Chelsea Perry. She's not part of the quilting group that's been slaying the name game and she only shared it yesterday. But we loved it.
One more fabric still to name, see the fabrics in this post and we haven't picked it yet. So leave us a new one. I'll announce that name tomorrow. The whole collection is on pre-sale through Windham's Representatives. It'll be in stores around August. In the meantime, join our email list to be part of the journey. Meet JOY IN A JAR The "Joy in a Jar" name came from Bev Vaughn. The Facebook Quilting Group is rocking the name game. Canning jars are a country classic that have been used for everything. Today they're being used for flowers, perfect for Joy in a Jar. Bev, I'll be sending you some of Joy in a Jar to try out.
There are several fabrics still to name, see the fabrics in this post. I'll announce a new name tomorrow. The whole collection is on pre-sale through Windham's Representatives. Again, from over in the Facebook Quilting Group. This is a sweet little bee pattern and the name fits. Katrina, I'll be sending you some of Bee Sweet to try out.

So many creative people! "Flower Press" came from Sherry Wentrcek Kell over in the Facebook Quilting Group. That group was on fire with their naming game. I appreciate your "Flower Press" name Sherry, it's so perfect! I'll be sending you some of Flower Press for you to try out.

One of the easiest ways for a company to keep track of their fabric is to number it. My collection is no exception. But that's really not a lot of fun. So I think the fabrics need names and I'd like your help naming them. In the comments, put the number and the name you've come up with. It's said that creativity takes courage. Be brave, put it out there. ME + YOU = Look What We Can Do!
Here's a first look at my first fabric collection Cottage Joy. The florals have dahlias, roses, hydrangeas and daisies. Bees, jars, and cross stitch fabrics round out the collection. Below is a look at a little girls dress using 3 of the fabrics. The journey to get to this point has gone on for months. With a ton of work. And fun. If you want to follow along on the journey join the mailing list.
It's taken months of working and not sharing. Until today. The COTTAGE JOY FABRIC COLLECTION is officially for pre-sale. You can see the whole collection of 8 designs in 25 fabrics. My very first fabric collection!! Is that awesome or what?!?! There are more projects coming but tell me what projects you like best so far.
